PRIME Minister Peter O’Neill has commended China for its continued assistance to social and economic development in the Pacific region.
He acknowledged China’s interest in becoming a permanent development partner in the Pacific Islands Forum.
He told the China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum in Guangzhou city: “This dialogue and the growing relationship the People’s Republic of China has with the Pacific Islands region, is wholly beneficial.”
He reaffirmed that China remained a major development partner in PNG’s major resources and commended it for supporting PNG at regional and international fora.
