ASIANS ARRESTED FOR BREAKING LIQUOR LAWS

All citizens of this country (PNG) whether nationals or expatriates, will have to abide by the laws of Papua New Guinea.

PPC Kalaut made these comments following the arrests of Asians in Madang for br
eaking liquor laws.

Recently the Madang District Court found guilty one distributor of Three Line - Fortune Investment’s Limited – one thousand kina fine and seventy cartons forfeited to the State.

Another distributor at New Town is likely to be slapped similar charges.

Despite conflicting instructions from provincial government authorities, PPC Kalaut said police will continue to uphold laws to maintain peace in the communities.

Madang residents also support the ban as means to curb law lawlessness in the province.

The Madang Liquor Licensing Commission it will continue to take those distributers who don’t comply with laws regulations.
