Investigation underway into Fiji National University

An anti-corruption watchdog in Fiji is undertaking a major investigation into the affairs of the Fiji National University.
The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption it began investigating the Nasinu Campus last month but the scope of its investigation has now been extended to include the entire university.
A spokesperson for the commission, Nandani Vandhana, told the Fiji Times the commission will not release the names of those being investigated and it is also not prepared to discuss the nature of the investigation.
In a statement, the university council chairman Mahendra Reddy, who is also the Minister for Education, says he cannot comment on the investigation.
Dr Reddy says the council has no idea what the commission is investigating and the commission is independent of the council.
