Port Moresby (EMTV):World class solar and biomass power plants will be built in the Central Province to provide electricity.
The projects were signed over the weekend between Central Province and American Based company Clean Energy Solutions.
Central Province Governor Kila Haoda says the project is a new beginning for the people of Central Province.
Governor Haoda and members of the Provincial Government met with Clean Energy Solutions CEO Craig Cox and his team.
Also present was Rigo MP and Minister for Transport Ano Pala and Chairman of the Eda Ranu Board Mary Karo.
The met for what they coined a historic moment for the Province - the development of solar and biomass power plants.
Governor Haoda said the project will now propel the province into prosperity.
Clean Energy Solutions were introduced to Governor Haoda by Minister for State Enterprise Ben Micah. After successful negotiations, development of the projects was agreed upon.
CEO Craig Cox said the project would bring in many off-shoot benefits for the people.
Rigo MP Ano Pala backed Governor Haoda and urged him to sign.
Both party signed the project documents, signalling the commencement of the project.
