THE National Capital District metropolitan command will be creating a Facebook page to provide better police services for the residents of the nation’s capital.
The initiative of the metropolitan supt Andy Bawa is expected to be launched this month.
“With the number of people having access to Facebook, what other better way is there to have a touch-base (dialogue) with NCD residents,” he said.
“It’ll also be a page where our communities can suggest ways in which we can do our jobs better.”
He said the police force was in a reform phase where opinions from the public were important.
“I believe outsiders see more clearly what is happening in the police force.
“They may come up with ideas that are constructive and can provide better alternatives on our policing methods,” he said.
“It is also a means where reports on crime can be done.”
Bawa said once the page was launched, there would be better dialogue with the public.
“But I must urge all our people that the page must not be abused.”
