PNG Man rapes his own daughters

FOR the past six years, a man has been raping his three daughters, one of whom gave birth to two children.
Another daughter is now two months pregnant.
The man was finally detained two weeks ago after the eldest daughter travelled all the way from their village home in Huon Gulf district to Lae to report it to the police.
The 23-year-old woman had not known that her father had been assaulting her two younger sisters, now aged 20 and 15.
On receiving the report, Lae police raided the house at dawn and nabbed the man.
Morobe police commander Chief Supt Kaiglo Ambane said yesterday  the man had threatened the sisters if they resisted. The oldest girl was first assaulted in Jan 2008 and bore two children.
“We have charged him with three counts of sexual penetration,” said Ambane who commended the woman for coming forward.
“It is not easy to report such matters but she was brave enough to speak out. The father is an elderly man and acted as a cowboy.”
The man is being detained at Buimo prison pending his trial.
Meanwhile on Sunday, a 12-year-old girl was abducted and raped by the skipper of a boat at Busong village in Bukawa, Nawaeb district.
She had boarded the boat at Voco Point to head to her village.
After dropping off the other passengers, the skipper took the girl to a secluded spot and raped her several times.
The skipper had been detained
