PNG Woman charged with misusing K400,000

A court in PNG has charge a women  with misappropriating almost K400,000 of company money in Port Moresby.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar told Rebecca Ronald that like all new cases, she would have to wait for a month to allow police investigations.
He said Ronald was not to interfere with any witness and she had to report to the Waigani committal court registry every Monday while on bail.
He said Ronald first appeared at the Tari District Court on Oct 3 and the court transferred the case to the Waigani since the offence was committed in Port Moresby.
Bidar extended the defendant’s court bail of K3000 and ordered that she return to court on Dec 10 for a mention.
Police said that on May 8 in Port Moresby, Ronald allegedly applied to her own use K398,400 belonging to shareholders of an Upstream Hela Women’s Ltd company.
Prosecutor Chris Iga presented to court an additional charge alleging that Ronald conspired with another woman at an ANZ Bank branch to withdraw that money from the company account.
Police has alleged that the defendant had intention to defraud the company of its money.
Ronald is from Guala village in Koroba in Hela.
