2015 Pacific Games preparation on track

All 2015 Pacific Games Venues along with the Games village will be move into the next phase of the construction, beginning early next year.
Despite the festive season, the construction sites are in full swing as the countdown continues

Tireless Sports Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, won’t rest until the venues are ready for the games.

Today is the eve of Christmas and festive celebration can already be seen in Port Moresby.

Back on the construction site, it is like any other day as work is still on progress.

The 2015 Pacific Games will be the biggest event held in PNG,  and will contribute to the development of different industries in the country including the tourism sector.

Recently, speaking to the media and sporting heads in a small gathering, Minister Tkatchenko said to work with the relevant stakeholders to deliver the games on time.

The Minister said the Government is now working with the private sectors in a public- private partnership program.

Curtain Brothers has come on board for Sir Hubert Murray Stadium. Lloyd Robson Oval, host of all the rugby league action will officially be going under construction on the 14th of January, 2014

The oval is under new trusteeship spearheaded by Peter Botten from Oil Search Limited. The oval is worth K171 million under the Government Tax Credit Scheme budget.

LNG Gas project developer Oil Search Limited will oversee the construction work.

In an interview on  EMTV’s Tok Piksa program, Pacific Games Committee Chief Executive Officer, Peter Stewart, was confident that the Games will be bigger and better than 1991.  

Today marks 556 days to go as the countdown continues. EMTV
