Papua New Guinean appointed co-chair of APEC Expert Groups

A Papua New Guinean has been appointed as co-chair of the Asia Pacific Economic Communities (APEC) Expert Groups when it meets in Chile.

Clarence Hoot, Director of the Business Investment and Export Promotions Division of the Investment Promotion Authority, becomes the first ever Papua New Guinean to co-chair a meeting of such calibre since P-N-G joined the APEC in 1993.

Mr Hoot's appointment to co-chair an APEC sub-committee forms the overall plan of PNG's bid to host and chair the APEC Meeting in 2018.
