Chinese Kai Bar in Port Moresby selling rotten food

PNG's TV station EMTV reports that a Chinese fast food outlet at Erima in the Nation’s Capital is alleged to have sold overdue food to a customer.
Yesterday, James Haralu from Tari in the Hela Province claimed he and his friends bought three packets of chicken and chips at WANG JIA LEE KAI BAR only to find the food tasting sour and had a foul smell.

James claimed that he bought the food from this fast food outlet next to KMC at the Erima Mart. When he and his friends started eating it they realised it tasted sour and had a sting smell.

He said they then brought the food to the Chinese lady at the front counter notifying her about the food but she forced them to eat it. This prompted him to bring the matter to Gordens Police Station.

However police could not charge the shop owners because there was no act in place under criminal code for such matters so they had to go get a health inspector at the NCDC health inspectors office, unfortunately there was no one at the office at time

Police with the complaint then decided to visit the shop and inform them about the complaint.

The owner claimed that due to a blackout the food warmer was off and so the food wasn’t heated. He wanted to repay James money.

James has decided to take the food home and store it in the fridge, and will on Monday bring the food with the money as evidence to the NCDC Health inspection office and lay his complaint. He called on the government to look into these issues.
