| Melanesian Arts and Culture Festival in Port Moresby |
Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Boka Kondra accompanied the casket in a show of Melanesian solidarity and cultural protocol.
Kondra was accompanied by Solomon Islands Minister for Culture and Tourism Samuel Manetoali, who had attended the Melanesian Festival of Arts and Culture in Port Moresby. Kondra is expected to return to PNG today.
Meanwhile, the minister said he wanted to accord the same respect by accompanying the casket of late Finau Mara to Fiji after the festival ended.
The deceased was a Fijian participant at the festival who collapsed and died on Sunday.
Her body is currently at the Funeral Home in Erima, NCD.
