Fiji has appointed a former Police Commissioner Esala Teleni as the new High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea.
Mr Teleni's commissioning was posted by Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, on his Twitter account.
Mr Teleni succeeds Romanu Tikotikoca who resigned as High Commissioner in March.
Mr Teleni has also served as Fiji's Ambassador to China and as such will be bringing to the post an in-depth knowledge and experience in international relations that should prove invaluable to Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
He is currently the chairman of the National Security Review Committee.
