A new airline is in the making and it is expected to be launched after September.
The Samoa Observer has been told that the airline is to be called “Talofa Airline” and will fly routes in the Pacific region to start with – including American Samoa.
The former Chief Executive Officer of Polynesian Airlines, Taua Fatu Tielu, is reportedly involved in the early stages of the set up. Contacted for a comment, Taua referred questions from the Samoa Observer to the Airline’s Advisor, Tole’afoa Jeffrey Hunter.
While he confirmed that the Airline is being set up, the former Manager for Flight Operations at Polynesian Airline said it is still in its early stages.
“I cannot comment further as there are other negotiations underway,” said Tole’afoa.
“But by September, we will know when the operation starts.”
Pressed for further details on the airline and who is behind it, Tole'afoa declined to comment. If the Airline is launched, it will mean Samoa will have three airlines, including Polynesian Airlines and Chris Langton’s Samoa Air.
